The means Allah the Almighty has chosen for us to come into this world are our parents. Each of us is born to a father and a mother. After birth, the first people we see, and whose warmth of love we experience, are our parents. In this world, after Allah, the Lord of all worlds, and the Messenger (peace be upon him), the people who love us with the most genuine and selfless love are our parents. They are the ones who nurture and raise us. Every creature is born with its own “nature.” For example, a dog is born as a dog, a cat is born as a cat. However, humans are the only creatures who, though born in human form, must develop human qualities to truly become “human” in the moral sense.   For every parent, a child is a trust given by Allah. Therefore, safeguarding this trust is also among the essential duties of parents. In our country, there is not much discussion about the responsibilities of parents towards their children. However, in this present age of trials (fitnah), I believe this topic deserves the most attention. Just as children have certain responsibilities and duties towards their parents, parents also have responsibilities and duties towards their children. Let us discuss this matter today: 1. Giving the child an Islamic name after birth: The first and foremost responsibility of parents after the birth of a child is to give their child a beautiful, meaningful Islamic name. A person’s name has an influence on them. In Arabic, there are many beautiful names with meaningful interpretations for children, and parents can choose from them. Allah is our Creator. He knows which things are beneficial for us and which are harmful. Our great Lord has made all beneficial things halal, and all harmful things haram. Among the things around us in this world, the number of useful things is greater. Therefore, the number of halal things is also greater. On the other hand, the number of harmful and haram things is less. Among the things Allah has made haram are all the musical instruments and music (songs). Regarding this, our Lord has said in the Holy Quran, وَمِنْ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِيْنٌ - “There are some people who purchase idle talk (vain entertainment) to mislead others from the path of Allah without knowledge and take it in mockery. প্রত্যেক পিতা-মাতার জন্য সন্তান হলো আল্লাহর দেয়া একটি আমানত। সুতরাং, এই আমানতের রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করাটাও পিতা-মাতার অবশ্য কর্তব্যের মধ্যে পরে। আমাদের দেশে সন্তানের প্রতি পিতা-মাতার কর্তব্য নিয়ে তেমন একটা আলোচনা হয় না। তবে বর্তমান ফিতনার জমানায় এই বিষয়টি নিয়ে সবচেয়ে বেশি আলোচনা হওয়া উচিৎ বলেই মনে করি। সন্তানের যেমন পিতা-মাতার প্রতি কিছু দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্য আছে, পিতা-মাতারও সন্তানের প্রতি দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্য আছে। চলুন আজ এই বিষয়ে আলোচনা করা যাক: ১। সন্তান জন্মের পর তার ইসলামি নাম রাখা: সন্তান জন্মের পর বাবা-মায়ের উপর প্রথম ও প্রধান দায়িত্ব হলো তাদের সন্তানের একটি সুন্দর অর্থবোধক ইসলামি নাম রাখা। কারণ ব্যাক্তির উপর তার নামের প্রভাব রয়েছে। আরবীতে অনেক সুন্দর সুন্দর অর্থবোধক নাম রয়েছে শিশুদের, বাবা-মায়েরা সেসব নাম রাখতে পারেন। অথবা বিভিন্ন নবী-রাসুল, সাহাবায়ে কেরাম ও সালাফে-সালেহীনদের নামে নাম রাখতে পারেন। ২। জন্মের পর সন্তানকে একটি ইসলামি পরিবেশে বড় করে তোলা: জন্মের পর একটি শিশু তার বাবা-মা, পরিবারের অন্য সদস্য ও পরিবারের পরিবেশ থেকে অনেক কিছু শিখে থাকে। বাবা-মা হলো শিশুর জীবনের প্রথম শ...

  এই পৃথিবীতে আগমনের জন্য আল্লাহ তা’আলা যে মাধ্যম আমাদের জন্য নির্ধারণ করেছেন তা হলো বাবা-মা। আমরা প্রত্যেকেরই জন্ম হয় বাবা-মায়ের থেকে। জন্মের পর যে মানুষগুলোকে আমরা দেখি, যাদের ভালোবাসার উষ্ণতায় থাকি তারা হলো বাবা-মা। এই দুনিয়ায় আল্লাহ রাব্বুল আলামিন ও রাসুল (সাঃ) এরপর যে মানুষগুলো অকৃত্তিম ও নিঃস্বার্থ ভাবে আমাদের ভালোবাসেন তারা হলের আমাদের পিতা-মাতা। তারাই আমাদের লালন পালন করে বড় করে তোলেন। প্রত্যেকটি প্রাণীই তার ‘নিজস্বতা’ নিজে জন্মে। যেমন একটা কুকুর কুকুর হিসেবেই জন্মে, একটা বিড়াল বিড়াল হিসেবেই জন্মে। তবে মানুষই একমাত্র প্রাণী যারা মানুষ হিসেবে শারীরিক অবয়বে জন্মালেও তার মধ্যে মানবিক গুণাবলীর সংমিশ্রণ ঘটিয়ে তাকে আলাদা ভাবে মানুষ হতে হয়। এই  ‘মানুষ হবার প্রকৃয়া’য় যারা আজীবন আমাদের সঙ্গ দেন তারা হলেন আমাদের পিতা-মাতা। পিতা-মাতার যেমন আমাদের প্রতি কিছু অবশ্য পালনীয় কর্তব্য আছে, তেমনি আমাদেরও আমাদের পিতা-মাতার প্রতি অবশ্য পালনীয় কর্তব্য আছে। তবে বর্তমানে পাশ্চাত্য সংস্কৃতির প্রভাবে আমাদের ও আমাদের বাবা-মায়ের মধ্যে সম্পর্কের সমীকরণ বদলে গেছে। বর্তমান যুগের বাবা-মায়েরা যেমন সন্...
